This upcoming season marks Coach Cisco Farrero’s 10^th as Head Coach of the College of the Rockies Men’s volleyball program.

Over his 8 seasons at the helm of the Avalanche Cisco’s regular season record is 92-75 with a playoff record of 7-7.  Cisco recently lead the Avalanche to their first PACWEST Championship Gold Medal in 2026, earning their second straight appearance at the CCAA Nationals, where they brought home a Silver Medal.

Cisco was named the PACWEST Coach of the Year in 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2025/26. He was also named the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2023/24. 

Prior to College of the Rockies Cisco was the Head Coach of the Men’s Volleyball program at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland from 2015-2017. He was also an assistant coach with the Memorial women’s volleyball team for the 2014-15 season.  Coach Farrero started his coaching career with the Lakeland College Rustlers women’s team in Lloydminster, Alberta as an assistant coach from 2008-2014, where in 2013 the Rustlers won ACAC and CCAA silver medals.

Cisco is originally from Meacham, Saskatchewan and played club baseball and volleyball as a youth. He was a member of Team Sask volleyball and attended the University of Saskatchewan. In the off-season Cisco is a professional fishing guide.

Cisco is proud to lead the COTR MVB program and looks forward to the challenges this upcoming season brings.
